Our Pre-Budget Submission 2022 was developed with the input of noted economist Jim Power, aimed at Supporting our Sector while it struggled to recover from the effects of Covid-19.

Key Recommendations outlined in the submission:

Permanently setting the VAT rate for the sector at 9% 

Introduction of a subsidy for trainee hairdressers 

Fast-tracking the introduction of the National Hairdressing Apprenticeship

Increasing the grant available for apprentices from €3,000 to €6,000 

Commit to a minimum number of hairdressing apprentices classes per year

Extending the EWSS to the end of 2022 and reduce the reduction in turnover criteria to 15%
